The e-resources in Kirkes e-library will change. The changes are related to the national eLibrary service, which will be launched on the 29th of April 2024.
The remote access to e-magazines will be paused during the transition period
The ePress magazine service has been discontinued. When the national e-library opens, you can read digital magazines again.
The ePress newspaper service will remain unchanged, and you will continue to be able to read online magazines on the libraries’ computers.
E-books and audiobooks
The national eLibrary will replace Ellibs Online Library. However, Ellibs will be available for the moment, and customers' loans and reservation queues will remain on the service.

The national elibrary offers e-books, audio books and digital magazines. Download the app to your phone or tablet from the app store from 29th of April 2024. The application is registered the first time with the help of strong identification. Read more

Ellibs
From Ellibs Online Library you can check out books and audio books in Finnish or in Swedish. Use your library card number and PIN code to log in.
Newspapers and periodicals
ePress
Offers online versions of Finnish local and provincial newspapers. Newspapers are only available on library computers.

Cineast
The Cineast.fi service has domestic and foreign films for adults and children. The service can be used online or downloaded as an application for a smart device.
Concert recordings
Medici.tv
Medici.tv contains over 3 000 videos of concerts, operas, and ballets. It also offers documentaries, masterclasses, as well as about 150 live streams per year. The content is mainly classical music and jazz.

Naxos Music Library
Naxos Music Library is a comprehensive collection of classical music available online. Also offers jazz, folk and world music.

Naxos Jazz offers jazz music from different eras, from both major and smaller labels.

World music from over 150 countries. Offers a wide range of world music, from legendary historical musical performances to contemporary world music.
Naxos Video Library
Naxos Video Library is an extensive streaming video library of classical music performances, opera, ballet, live concerts and documentaries.
Free e-resources online
You can find a lot of materials free of charge online. Here you can find links to books and other materials, mostly classic and older literature. Please note that the content of this box varies depending on which language you are using the web library in. These materials are not included in the Kirkes libraries’ collection, so you do not need your library card to access them.

Elonet is a database and VOD service provided by The National Audiovisual Institute KAVI. There are over 450 films to watch on Elonet, some with English subtitles.
Onleihe
The Onleihe is Goethe-Institut’s digital library. More than 23,000 German language ebooks, audio books, movies, materials for German language learners, magazines and newspapers. Free of charge, requires registration.
